I don't think it's weird, especially if the friends are the ones sending you the requests. Unless you're their teacher or something like that, I don't see anything wrong with it.
My mom has a few of mine and my brother's friends on her Facebook and we aren't bothered by it. Granted, he's almost 20 and I'm almost 22, but still.
