keep in touch with friends, long distance
all your friends have it
you can set ur profile so thar only you're friends can see it, so it's safe
not many of you're friends keep in touch through email, and use this instead
con: pics on internet, friends can see and use them if they wanted

if you need your parents permission then no you shouldn't get a facebook. see, facebook was originally for COLLEGE students, and should have stayed that way.

To connect with friends
Pros: more privacy controls than myspace, pretty secure
Cons: Time consuming

well i prefer myspace over facebook but i have both.
my facebook is ok for friends and cool applications that myspace doesnt have.
but facebook was recently hacked in the last week so it may not be safe at the moment.

I have facebook and I had to convince my parents too.

They are probably thinking you are going to be talking to people you dont know.
But just tell them you cant talk to anyone unless they are in your friend list and if someone adds you into their friend list they cant speak to you unless you accept their invitation of inviting you to their friends list.

Fun things about facebook:
Great games
Quizzes
Speaking to friends
Uploading photos to share with friends
and there is soooo much more to do.....

My parents also won't let me...

Facebook is a way to communicate and share with friends and other people far away. It helps you to connect with friends that have perhaps moved away and it helps you to make new friends.

By the way don't just make one, cos if your parents find out then your in big trouble, and also it shows a huge lack of integrity and breaks trust...

Hope you win!

Facebook was originally designed for college students to share files.
I use facebook to ask for homework if I forget anything.
Pros: Homework help, asking, etc. Staying in touch with far-off family and friends. Sharing photos

Cons: Ruins your life, you can occupy too much time on it, so basically if you spend time on fb you have no life.

I regret making an fb some months back. Because I remember one day where I wasted too much time on it. If you are a high school student, then you can make one if you want to. But if you are a middle school student or in any grade lower, you shouldn't. It would waste your time and not to be rude or anything but some may think you have no life.

1)It's a good way to stay connected with family/friends, it's gotten to be alot more convienent than e-mail. My mom and brother/sisters are on Facebook and now that I'm out of the house it's a great way to stay connected. Also helps you find out friends birthdays, phone numbers, etc..

2)Photo storage- It's a great place to archive photos, has all the privacy features and tagging options of Flickr

3)Facebook Chat- A good way to chat with your friends, doesn't have all the functionality of AIM or ICQ but a nice addition to the other reasons.

4)Everybodys doing it- Not just all your friends, but companies, bands, movies, everyone is starting to have a facebook presence. Companies give out great coupons exclusively to facebook fans. You can see exclusive movie trailers.

Its a place where pedos can poke you!

Yeh leave that bit OUT.

Well, i recently started high school, and FB is a way of staying connected with the kids i went to middle school with.

Over the past couple of weeks, ive also found that kids from my elementary school are adding me as a friend now, and its great to catch up!

Also, when im on FB you see peoples FB status'. And i dont know HOW many times someone in my english class has aved me from getting detentions by having "OMG IM STUCK ON THE SHAKESPEARE ESSAY" and i then go: "oh deer. must start essay, THANKS!

I think thats enough reasons Smile
