She might just think you guys are getting to know each other as friends and nothing more. If I was talking to someone its not like I would bring it up straight away, because it may not be relevant to the conversation, and a girl normally wouldnt assume that just because she is talking to a male that it means they are interested in her and she should therefore make sure to mention she has a bf.

It may mean she's deceptive and is along for the ride and has no serious interest in you--or her other "boyfriend." There are people--men and women--who are insincere in developing relationships and only want to have a fling with anyone they choose. Generally they do not make good long term companions.
