a third for shelter, a third for food and a third put away for college is what you are suppose to do with it. But never happens.

Child support goes for shelter, food, clothing, childs portion of electric, gas, water, field trips, sports, etc., etc. I promise you that you ae not paying even close to half of what it is costing to raise your children. Buy the extra clothes & toys.

Really? You can't buy your kids a couple outfits! Do you seriously believe the cs you pay comes close to half of the cost of raising them? Maybe the other parent could show you a list of the expenses it costs to raise kids.

Funny everyone says mom is off shopping for herself. But none call CPS to complain their kids don't have food, clothes, etc....

You are not required to supply her with anything beyond the support, but you do supply these when you have the children.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.

Child support goes towards the costs of raising a child. Anything from rent, utilities, food, clothes, school supplies, insurance, health care, etc.
