Not me. Because its no skin off my nose whether you believe in Jesus or not. As for me, I believe in Jesus.

Oh you feign innocence....but your purpose is to torpedo believers

I was going to answer this, but it was far too long...

Some people need to believe in something for their lives to feel complete. When you disagree with their religion, its almost like you're disagreeing with their whole reason for living.

Not sure if was because he was a "X"-tian or just being 'human'. Not everyone can Reasonably deal with what in THEIR own Opinion is quite an outrageous view. I have dealt with Muslims that also were very easy to get indignant. I would love to continue that debate with you .. I see both your initial points.

"my own life is meaningful to me and to my loved ones! "

I see your point... BUT people being people. In a TOTALLY atheistic society... would it not be a Logical result that in THAT society ..without ANY worry of being 'Caught and Judged' MANY MORE people would have NO qualms in TAKING and DOING as they pleased, at the Expense of others, to ENRICH the Meaningfulness of their Present, Limited, Less affluent lives and their loved ones?

Being as they will Never, Ever be held accountable for Anything: After their dead. ?.
A Clear License to : Eat! Drink! and Make Merry... for tomorrow [in the future}you will die.[return to nothingness]!

I think behind all the rhetoric the answer is quite simple; our very existence undermines their precious faith. Here we are, atheists, not believing in god, quite happily living our lives with love and hope and all those things that they believe, need to believe, come only from god and the promise of immortality. We are living proof that you don't need Christianity to be happy. That's a threat to them.

Myself being one who didnt believe in God until 21......and then became a christian...
I have been a teacher of religion for 40 years, and understand where you both are comign from.
the theory of a life.............is just like going to school and college; for the athiest ... it can be compared to the analogy of him being=an earthly professional student.....
for the chrisitan,= it is one seeking for that graduation and a vocation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
an ahtiest looks at life as the end of the road.....and a christian sees it as a testing ground...for the rewards that are to come
to that athiest, if confronted with porn, crime, adultry, etc...he sees no spiritual reason for accountability from anything other than the police or parents or personal conviction. But the chrsitian sees it as a stumbling block to that eternal graduation.......
their anlaogy of ..NO purpose" for the athiest " simply means you have no goals other than this earthly life, and see your death as final...thus giving you o goals for anything eternal... your life has no meaning in the spirutal sense. To the ahtiest a good job and earthly monitary rewards and family relationships is your highest asperations...
for the christian...it marks their steps in soceity.....their character ...their demeanor...their approval with a God........to a good chrsitian, their life is filled with good things, goodly people, and good works.....an athiest isnt marching time with how spiritual they are or how many good deeds they can perform...they are more singly minded on their inner circle...and their ladder pace in achieving a monitary stability..
in essence.......the athiest is more self centered.....self serving as a whole....in that their core emotion isnt to love his fellow man to any great degree....The chrsitian is on a heavenly quest.....(The good chrsitian) to be as loving, as compasionate and chariable as possible,to give his fellow man an uplifting day and to bring him also,... to the level of change where he might fall back and rethink his position with his creator
basically we chrsitians want to grab by the nap of the neck, those who might fail to see any eternal meaning.........and with hopes they will be enlightened enough to walk the journey......with the rest of us............... and receive the same reward.....
we christians are so happy with this element in our lives that we dont want anyone else to miss out.

the truth is we are all born into this world dead in our sins (dead spiritually) when a person come to God through faith in Jesus we are made alive together with Christ alive spiritually this is what salvation is and if we refuse the Gift from God which is life then we remain dead in our sins forever.

Same reason atheist get mad when Christians try to speak out their believe. Both side get confrontational when their believe gets disregarted. Why are you asking this question if u don't care what they think or bother u for that matter. I hope u don't get upset not even a little bit with my answer, because then their is your answer. No one likes being told they r wrong specially when you believe very strong in what u stand for.

Live and let live. long as we don't hurt each other, we will all be fine.
