Why is facebook called facebook? - faintocean565 - 02-19-2014 12:44 PM

Why have they kept its name facebook.

Because when the site owner was trying to think of a name, he was looking through some books for ideas, eventually he gave up and asked his friend who replied with a stupid answer. The owner then--- out of complete failure of the other guy, slapped his book against his friend's face.
Thus, FACEBOOK!

I think FB is called that, because people can put their face on it. But the fact is they wouldn't want their face in the phone book or would they?

Facebook was originally called Facemash, and then the creator (Mark Zuckerberg), created the first domain name for the website as TheFacebook.com, which was restricted only for Harvard College undergraduates. He later renamed it to just Facebook.
