i know a good way is to get big accounts to tell everyone to tweet but are there any other good ways?

Well you need to make sure that what you want to trend is seen by as many people as possible. Get your followers to tweet it, get them to get their followers to tweet it and so on... But as well as that make sure you message big accounts. If you message 50 people with over 10,000 followers, say, perhaps one or two of them may re-tweet it.
But, ultimately, it's unlikely that if you have a small number of followers that you'll be able to get something trending.
