i get these emails saying that someone sent me a friend request on facebook, but everytime i go to fb home page it says i dont have any friend requests? how can i fix this?
in the box where the friend requests should be, there is a blank, it shows other notifications such as apps and stuff but no requests.

Look in the upper, right-hand corner, where they usually put advertisements. That's where the friend requests are.
