Even if you are friends with them, there's no way for someone to know whether you've visited their timeline, looked at their statuses, photos, etc. However, if you like their status or picture, or comment on their status or picture, it will show up on their notifications what time you had did so, and also it will appear next to your comment for everyone else to see.
