Are you talking about Yahoo Answers ?
If so, No , it doesn't have anything to do with this program. Must be something that you have running in the background.
Have you tried "Ctrl +Alt + delete " all at the same time to bring up the Task manager & see what is running ? Try this, may help.

Trending is simply something that Yahoo lists to show what is being followed the most on Twitter. It does not 'run in the background' and should not slow down anything on your computer at all.
