Once you change it you can hide it from your timeline or remove the thingy...

Just make it your profile picture and go to your facebook wall a delete it

Ultimately you cant! Another wacky feature of facebook! However you can go onto your profile and delete the post that says "___changed her profile picture " hope this helps!

you can change the privacy setting once you have published your post, set it to "only me"
