Why do people do this? - Jokkenson - 02-20-2014 08:30 AM

On Facebook (I don't know why I am "obsessing" over this) why do people sen me a friend request or if I send them one and they accept it, and I try to talk to them like just a simple "hey", they ignore me. Most people on my friend list I actually know (I may not talk to them very much or at all, but we actually know each other.) Like I messaged someone and they had to ask who are you even though they finally remembered me and they asked why did I message them when I just said "hey". I know theres that one mutual friend competition where people compete to get the most mutual friends but why do they accept my friend request or send me a friend request If they just ignore me? All I say is hi or hey not something stupid or whatever...

For some ppl it's a competition. Try to make friends not just from social media sites. But from different places.

Honestly, if you want to know the truth, it's just annoying! People don't use facebook anymore that much and most people aren't going on there to chat! I do that to people all the time simply because I don't want to talk. (No offence) haha, but that is why!

Some people don't care about who they friend. They may just want a lot of friends on Facebook so they feel popular

As you said above its more about incraesing there friend count and then once you accept your friend request they have something extra to read on there timeline so that they can pass there time when on facebook. This happens with almost 100% of fb users. Hardly 5-6 ppl are actively interacting with each other on a regular basis rest of them are just for news feed on timelines
