How do I cure my facebook addiction? - Taonga - 02-20-2014 12:02 PM

Facebook has been a drag for a while now.

My account is filled with either kids that post senseless posts, or my peers that complain about things they don't understand fully. And to be honest, there's people I'm sick of seeing on my News Feed, and I know if I unfriend or block them they'll probably confront me about it and I'd have to come up with some lame excuse.

Frankly the only interesting thing on facebook are these pages that post funny pics and videos.

I tried deactivating my account, Lord knows I've tried but deactivating is basically Logging Out for me.

Delete it and go do yoga

First of all facebook is not an addiction. Its a good platform where people can share good knowledgeable things. It totally depends on you what kind of people you have added on your Facebook profile and what kind of pages you had liked. Facebook will only show you the things which you re interested in it.
Thats the only way you can tackle Facebook if you have failed in deactivating your profile.

Facebook is a big waste of time.
Just stop using it.

you know you can hide stuff on your news feed without blocking or unfriending people... just click the arrow on the side and choose 'hide' or similar

if its really bothering you i guess you could try addiction therapy as a last resort

good luck

my mom is addicted to facebook... shes on it all the time.. she never goes out except for shopping for groceries or stuff... she has absolutely no hobbies outside of facebook and its really sad... at least you recognize the problem, and thats the first step to reovery....my suggestion is to get a hobby... even if its just walking or riding a bike... its takes some willpower, like getting over any addiction, but if you find something in REAL LIFE that excites you or that you can get passionate about, you will forget facebook in no time and it will just be something you look at on a rare occasion.. good luck.
