Me and A (my friend) set our own instagram accounts in private mode. I request to follow her, and she accepted my request, that means I can see and comment on her photos, but she did not follow me in return, so I wonder if she could see and comment on any of my photos?

Yes I think she can see your photos your following her. So there for she can see your photos!

No, she can't. Your account is set to private mode, if she requested to follow you and you accepted, and then she'll be able to view your posts. Instagram is not the same as Facebook.
Chloee must be new to Instagram.
