Is social media safe. do you trust your privacy? - Chase - 02-20-2014 08:10 PM

Facebook, Linkin, twitter and others . all a bit risky, don't you think
I don't want anyone to know who my friends are or who my connection are,
you are also putting your friends open to things. I feel very uncomfortable putting my friends
at risk.

No. Your interests and history and stuff are sold on to other companies.

Mainly the use of this is to put appropriate ads up for you, but it is still an invasion of privacy.

Well social media is sure a risk to some extent, but only to some extent! At the hands of competent and evil-minded hackers, our A/cs are a tad unsafe.
Most such sites have a good account and privacy protection. For example: Facebook and Google+ do have strong security systems. But I feel that maybe the twitter security is not so safe.

If you don't want someone to know something about you, don't put it out on the internet. It's that simple. That applies to status updates, tweets, pictures, etc. Don't say it if you don't want it to come back at you.
