I am getting a new tariff with 500mb of data and I am wondering if that will be enough for checking facebook app daily?

Not really on my motorola droid when the it is not running it is 1.04 mb. If you use the app for along time it might use 2.00mb of data

The Facebook app does not use much data at all, if you only use the internet for Facebook on your phone then you'll find it almost impossible to max our your allowance by viewing Facebook alone.
500MB should be fine for lots of Facebook/Web browsing and even a few YouTube videos, just don't go over the top with watching videos online and you should be absolutely fine.
