Code of Ethics for TV Film Crew? - Tracy - 02-21-2014 02:20 AM

Can anybody please advise as to whether or not a film crew who attend a contributors home for the making of a programme are in breach if they then go on to a social network site and talk about the contributor in a distasteful manner? Who would this need to be reported to if they are in the wrong as it would not be practical for the contributor to contact the TV media company?

It should all be in the contract. But everybody should note that although it might be flattering to be asked, many times when involved in the making of a film/documentary, much of it ends up either on the cutting room floor, or being tweaked to fit the programme being made. There have been many times when people have been sucked into all this, only to find the result far from what they expected.

Always read the small print!!

If you feel you have been misrepresented, or material is being used other than the original intent, then see a lawyer!!!
