Also if I unfollow them before they see the follow notification if there is one do they still see it?

Yes, if you follow someone they get a notification telling them you followed them but if you unfollow them before they see it I dont know. I would think that the notification would still be there until they refresh their notifications and possibly after that...

Yeah, they will see it pop up on their lock screen or whatever, but if they go look at it, it will be gone. So they will know u followed but unfollowed!!
