Is Facebook slowly becoming Myspace? Or is it just me? - Aura - 02-23-2014 02:52 PM

I feel like Facebook is coming to an end. People my age (15ish) are starting to abandon Facebook and on to Instagram and Snapchat and, occasionally, Ask.fm.
Opinions?

Each group after something becomes mainstream tend to abandon, esp with everyone getting Facebook. I don't see it going like MySpace but see it where it isn't the fun place for kids to be anymore as parents and grandparents on their now

facebook is having the same problems that myspace had, and friendster before myspace, and ICQ before friendster, and and IRC before ICQ... you probably dont remember friendster tho, or ICQ, or IRC back before social networking

what is the problem? spammers vs little attention seeking kids creating fake accounts and fighting online and causing drama

maybe someday a new site will evolve that will be able to deal with these problems, but it is unlikely - the spammers and little kids always ruin social networking

A lot of groups and grown ups have Facebook pages. It's actually a great place to get local and specialized, up-to-the-minute news. What happened to MySpace is that after the kiddies flooded it, it turned into a playground, then when they started to abandon it, the musicians and stoners moved in and took it over. It went from weird to weirder. Instagram and Snapchat are for quick, sniper-like communication. Facebook says "snuggle up" while Snapchat says "Tag! You're it!".
