what is the meaning of friend suggestions on facebook, are they suggested by friends or by facebook?
I need to know because i might send a request to someone i dont know at all.

They are suggested by facebook on the basis that you have mutual friends with them. If it was suggested by a friend it would go your requests.

From time to time you will get a suggestion by a friend that will show up on your friend request area. But the suggestions that show you like 20 people are basically friends of friends that facebook has suggested so the idea is that you know people that are friends of your friends and that makes it easier because you don't have to search for them.

if they are suggested by friends then it will go to your friend requests and it will come sugggested by ______ ur friends name...

Friend suggestion on facebook is like , you dont need to search for your mutual friends, you need to just recognize whether the person in friend suggestion is ur friend. you dont need to search for your mutual friends, facebook does it for you through friend suggestion.
