why dont i get notifications on my andriod phone for facebook comments etc? - Pebbledash - 10-15-2012 06:21 PM
i have recently upgraded to the htc desire and have found that it wont send notifications when people e.g comment on my facebook profile. it seems to only be facebook as ive signed into twitter and thats seems ok.
the only notification i recieve from facebook is a silent one when someone chats with me.
all settings on and tone set up fine but still nothing.
also to add. fiancee has one too and her phone recieves all notifications fine..?
to add again (lol) only diff in the 2 is that her andriod market is updated wheras mine isnt yet.
any help would be appreciated as its really annoying.

if her work... and your doesnt... then logic states it your phone!
first... powercycle (turn phone off for 2 min and turn back on)... work now?
if not, try clearing cache... go to settings >applications>manage apps>click ALL tab>go to facebook app... clear cache... DO NOT clear data! REpeat this for your market app too!!!! Now powercycle again... Work now???? (another option is to get a cachecleaner app from the market... works wonders!
If the powercycle and cache clear still didnt work......... then uninstall facebook app.... go to market and reinstall facebook app... work now???
If not, then something is up... I just realized your Using HTC Desire... oh god... HTC... That means............ SENCE UI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <<psycho music>>
oh dear lord... I hate UIs!!! If yoru using the UI facebook widget for Sence and NOT the Facebook App........ then remove your facebook account on your phone... settings>accounts> facebook>remove... powercycle phone.......... readd fb account settings>accts>facebook>add account.... powercycle... let it sit for 5-10 for it to re-ssync again with facebook like you did when you first got the phone.... Work now?!?!!?!??!?!!? IT BETTER! If not... get a replacement Desire cause im out of ideas! LOL
UIs like to take control over functions of Android... Motoblur did this on my Droid X... with facebook AND my twitter widgets..... until I rooted and flashed over a non-UI version of Darkslide ROM... no more UI!!!!!!! LOL
