One way is to follow a ton of people, and wait for follow-backs.
Advertise your Twitter in other social medias, make your Bio
interesting and unique.
Have a cool profile image.
Have a cool background on your profile page.
These should get you started.

You can join #followtricks #teamfollowback or any related hashtag. But I strong encourage you to find people whose interest is same as yours. In this way, you can create a more engaging conversations. Anyway, Twitter is not a place for you mine for followers, it is a best place to build connections.

Hi, if you don't know who I am I'm a famous commentator and minecrafter. In the past I was just like you I had a hard time trying to get twitter followers and get people to take me seriously in the gaming community. Then all of that changed when I decided to just buy some twitter followers. I ended up buying 10,000 followers from http://www.followerplusone.com and I haven't looked back. Ever since then my fan base has grown 5000%. (I have around 87k followers now)
