I went to Ecuador and there was a family in my travel group from France. I really clicked with them and with the guy my age. When we were just becoming friends he got really sick and he wasn't up for much until the end of the trip. We became friends and I just loved everything about him and his family. Thing is, the only contact I have with him now is through instagram which is less than minimal, and I know I will never see him or his family again. I've thought about him everyday and I just need a way to put him out of my mind.
He has no facebook, he doesnt email, and we can't text

Why dont you get his contact info like email phone number or fb or send him a letter to his address asking for his contact info

I dont see why it needs to be so final
its not as though its a messy relationship breakup or such
outside of instagram theres plenty of ops to talk and share your lifes experiences
skype and suchlike programs are great for keeping in contact with friends all over the world
and who says you wont see each other again
you could travel to france in a few years
he might travel to your part of the world
friendships with people we click with are cool .. dont be so ready to surrender to distance
