7 months ago i received a nasty facebook message from a fake account but this person obviously knew me i challenged them in an argument then aventually blocked them i have now noticed that account has been deleted.this also happened to my friend the day before by the same person.can i find out who it was?

Try to hack his Facebook account. From there you can all sorts of things.

I'd say the best thing to do is tell someone about it or report it to facebook then they should delete the account?

Maybe there was some hint to who he was at the message he sent you.If he knew who you were you should know who he is maybe by recognizing something that he said and someone else usually says.If the account was deleted and you can't recognize anything in the messages then no you can't find out who he is.
