Is Tumblr just a bad place to message someone? - Mike - 02-24-2014 11:16 PM

I sent someone a "Ask Me" message on their Tumblr almost a week ago and they sent me a message back expressing interest in talking to me. I responded to that message and about 6 days have gone by with no response and I know that the person has been on their Tumblr because they've responded to other "Ask Me" questions/messages. Yesterday I sent a message asking if they got my message, because from what I've read online Tumblr's messages don't always send. Today I noticed they've responded to a few more "Ask Me" messages but still not mine. Should I try messaging the person somewhere else, like email or Twitter? Is Tumblr just a bad place to message someone (I'm new to Tumblr if you haven't noticed)? Or should I take the hint and realize the person doesn't want to talk to me?

What you need to realize is that popular blogs gets A LOT of messages and that they don't always read their messages from Anons and whatnot. It's not that they dont want to talk to you, it's probably because they don't respond to their inbox often.

So yes, a better way would be to go on Twitter or some other social media (:

I would not suggest using the Ask Me tab.. because if the person wants to humiliate you they can always make the answer public.
If they have the option do the "Fan Mail" They can not share it.
