I know that a while ago facebook launched its username feature where people can create a username so that the url for there page comes up as http://www.facebook.com/insertusernamehere
but it was my understanding that this feature also came out for public profiles (or "pages")
I have a page used for marketing my band that I would like to get a username for but everytime I go to the username link http://www.facebook.com/username
it just says that I already have a user name for my profile (which I do), so how am I supposed to be able to get one for my band page?

I was just puzzling over this, too. When I tried to create a page username, it prompted me to create a profile username.
BUT--when you get to that screen where it says "Now you can have a username for your Facebook profile" (etc.), look closely at the bottom of the page. There's a link there that says: "Set a username for your Pages." Click that, and you're good to go (if your page meets eligibility requirements). Hope that helps!
