so they can't even see my profile picture or cover photo? the privacy setting doesn't work! PLEASE HELP!! i don't want anyone seeing my account! like they have it on skype? or even get rid of timeline??

You can't have your profile picture or cover photo completely to just you - people have to be able to identify you by name and photo (even if you don't have a common name, there's probably hundreds who still share your name).
Time to rethink if you even want an account if you don't want your profile picture/cover photo showing to anyone at all. Change those pictures to something you *are* willing to share or just deactivate your account.

you can limit your profile to just your friends, but no further.
why in hell would you make facebook if you didnt want anyone to know about it?

Go to 'account' and then settings and you do it on there.

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook, not an optional update - they are now forcibly converting everyone slowly without your consent

Too late, you can't get rid of your timeline.

You can remove your timeline from your account, if you dont want one can seen you its not possible but you can try go into privacy setting.
