How Much should I charge someone to tutor on social media, set up logo and business blog page, etc? - Kelly Smith - 02-25-2014 07:33 AM

I was recently asked to assist an acquaintance in setting up a facebook account and business page on FB. They also want me to help them develop a logo, brochure, flier, etc. They are starting up a small business and do not have much computer skills. i am far from a professional, but i am knowledgeable. I just do not know how much to charge. I thought about something hourly and monthly if they want me to maintain their social media sites. HELP!! I have no clue. THANKS

I would quote the setup of the initial stuff as one project, then any ongoing maintenance/changes at a pre-determined hourly rate. Make sure to also limit the number of revisions you will provide for logos. Three is the standard.

Take it from me, I've been in this business for years and you need to make the costs clear up front no matter if it's a stranger, friend, or family acquaintance. Save yourself any future headaches.

As for the actual hourly cost, that's all you but keep in mind you can't demand pro prices if you think you're not there yet, on the other hand don't sell yourself short. People are paying for your knowledge and the time you have spent learning what you know.
