How to change yahoo avatars now? - Bubbles - 02-25-2014 10:35 AM

Since the Yahoo site upgrade I don't know how to change my avatar to another look. The old avatar.com site does not exist anymore and I don't do Twitter or Facebook. Thanks.

You must create your own avatar using software on your computer or download one from one of the many avatar sites on the web. Keep the avatar small. The displayed avatar is 48x48 pixels and under 5k. A very large avatar may become distorted or blurry. I recommend keeping it square and under 100k. Yahoo no longer has a site to create one. It closed on 4/1/13.
Here is a site where you can create an avatar: http://www.doppelme.com/
Here are a couple of sites with ready made avatars: http://freeavatarsonline.com/

In order for your avatar to appear you must make your Yahoo! Profile visible if not already. Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ and make sure the profile is not hidden. There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on.

Either go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://profile.yahoo.com and click on the current avatar. Upload one or choose an existing one. If updating at one link does not work then try the other.

Yahoo no longer provides avatars however you can create one from other free sites see the links below. If you are on wireless you must wait until you are on a computer.
Choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar you had saved to your pc.
Create a personal avatar below not a moving or large one, right click and save it to your computer pc.http://laughingsquid.com/faceyourmanga-c…

Now,follow these directions from Yahoo closely. http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN3609&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1388180385007&locale=en_US&y=PROD_ANSW
Close and reopen your browser or reboot. and your avatar should be showing If your avatar isn't showing try resizing it to make it smaller.
