There is a lot of terms by marketing.
Marketing is simply a process of which tasks or steps are done to get noticed or continue to stay noticed.
There is promotional marketing, internet marketing, inbound marketing, outbound marketing, etc etc. They all cover a variety of different areas.
Examples:
Meetups and Networking
TV and Radio
Facebook and Twitter
