I just got stood down from my school for creating a Meme page about it on facebook , Is this right!? - KarlB - 10-15-2012 07:42 PM

I live in new zealand, and im 14 , and my school has stood down myself for creating a page in which i deleted the day after i made it , I didnt entend it to be like this, i am a good student and i think their being too harsh on me , i have apoligized and now they have me gone from school for 2 days and i have to stand in front of the board of trustees (School representives) the day i get back, i didnt even know it was illegal to make these pages since i live in New Zealand, but it turns out it is, is this fair?

Wow. Just wow. I never thought such punishments would be indicted on students just because they created a meme page. I'm speechless. What is the meme btw? I will only accept the punishment if this meme was so horrendous to the school or society. I'm in California so I wouldn't not understand what it is like in New Zealand.

Your using their internet, maybe their laptop on their terms and conditions, which you probably agreed to somewhere along the line, so yes they have the rights, you probably broke those terms and conditions. So they saw the page go up and you got caught. Most schools have FB barred so did you use a proxy? Private School, having a board of Trustees. You did it you got caught, so you have no defence, but to take what they dish out, after all you there to learn at the expense of your parents, not to socialise and bag the school. Sorry but I am on the schools side on this one, oh I live across the ditch in AU.
