i keep reading news about how there is a terror threat on the winter games and stuff but i dont know why. and i have an essay about it do tomorrow so could you help me put the things in like paragraph form? not like an actual paragraph, just point that i could build up on. Cause i know Putin is not exactly a person that terrorists would like but that doesnt explain why terrorists would want to attack the games. HELPPPPPP
guys, i know there are several reasons, i think i would feel a lil more helped if you had giving me some specific ideas to what they are trying to get at and why...

for the publicity

There's a lot of political chaos in Russia right now on a wide range of separate issues. From Putin's economic/social policies to the ongoing strife in Chechnya. Separate issues & separate problems all going on at once. Russia isn't the most stable right now.

Edit: Terrorists will attack anyone just to send a message, that's why they are called TERRORISTS.

@ Paladin - I meant to give your answer a thumb up but accidentally thumbed it down.

He's right, publicity is part of their agenda.

Because their is a country from every continent at the Olympics which means any terrorism would have an impact over the entire world, not just Sochi.

Also, there is intense media coverage of the Olympics, including thousands of photographers and reporters there to cover the games. This means whatever they did would be covered immediately and distributed on a world wide basis.

If you look back to the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, the Palestinian attack on the Israeli athletes is still talked about today. The group, Black September, gained immediate notoriety and more than 40 years later is still in history books. And that was long before social media.....

So if you were a small terrorist cell, looking to make a name for your group, become famous world-wide and make sure you were never forgotten, then it would make sense to attack the Olympics.

Terrorists' objective is to disrupt our lives and make us give up our normal activities, they do this by killing people. Anytime there are large crowds the terrorists may attack.
To understand their motives is difficult but today most terrorists are Muslims and their objective is to kill everyone that is not Muslim.

most of it is just media hype to cover the issue of US managing Ukraine politics
