Create a fan page, get shares and likes and couple that with a webpage where you actually offer something to them. It can be your product or someone else's.

Well this is a pretty open question. Generally, with Facebook, I see the profits coming from selling a product or service and using Facebook as the marketing channel. There are ways to incorporate an e-commerce store into your Facebook fan page if you have products to sell.

If you are just looking to monetize your existing Facebook following, then I would consider some of the things that bloggers do like affiliate links and paid posts. If you have an audience that is in tune with a particular subject than there might be companies willing to have you post status updates on your page.
