I just signed up for Twitter, I have no idea how it works. I found 30 people/organizations I wanted to follow and signed up to follow them.
Within 30 minutes of doing this I had 15 people sign up to follow me. Are they spammers? They don't know me and I have tweeted yet, although I do have my profile and picture set up.
Can someone explain this? Is it normal?

If you get followers that fast, they are almost certainly automated. There is software out there http://urlchef.com/tg/
