my profile is not in the form of timeline. i'm still using the old one and the only options they give are Remove from profile, Untag, or Mark as spam

instead of removing it from your timeline, just hide it from your timeline instead, then it wont be deleted from the photo album

If you remove it from your profile, it still remains in your photos..
But if you delete it, it is removed from your photos even..
