Easy question!
Because they are attention whores.

I tend to agree with Kasey. I don't understand Facebook. I don't do it, but my daughter does. Some people act as those the sun rises and sets on them and their activities. What ego, huh?

They do if for psychological and sociological reasons far more than it is done for any deep seated philosophical reason. For a better understanding of the motivation for human behavior, study psychology and sociology. There are forums for both of these disciplines.

They're also being goaded by Facebook and Twitter promps on every website and coming out of the woodwork. I think Facebook is designed by very smart social mind control specialist working for the US controllers who designed it to make profiles on everyone they can, and they can maybe using a psychological hook that is hard to detect to almost force people to give them everything about them and everything they do.

Eh, it's less creepy than trolling such websites and thinking you know someone because you read their page.

People do this because it's easier than maintaining actual relationships through conversation. They don't post anything that wouldn't come up in ten minute conversation you have with them once a week.

For the same reasons anyone tells anyone anything about themselves.

To feel connected to their fellow human beings.

I'm on face book but no one knows me so I'm thinking of getting out, i mean how do you get to know one if one don't know you in the first place?

Maybe people like to share their experiences with others. Mike

Some people are very desperate for attention. ~*
