my dad just requested me on facebook. i want to just accept so he doesnt make things weird if i say no. but i dont want him seeing every freakin thing thats going on on my page. is there anyway to make it so he can only see certain things?

You can go to privacy settings and click the custom option. Click the link near the bottom of the grid list and it will direct you to the different posts, photos, updates, etc to which you can choose who sees what.

To choose someone specific, click the "customize" option in the drop lists beside each category, then type their name.

You must add the person first to do so, though.

Yes, you will have to customize as you post though. If you have pictures that he doesn't need to see for instance, you will need to customize the "Album privacy" and choose custom, friends only, and block from "your dad's name here."

In status updates, you can keep him from seeing what you type by clicking on the little "lock" around the message box and doing the same thing. Problem is, you will not be able to protect your friends' messages when they initiate posts on your wall.. they either need to be careful or risk the "dad drama." Hope that helps...
