In Yahoo Mail can I change the default sort option to oldest messages at the top? - Claire T - 03-02-2014 01:07 AM

I have always had my inbox messages sorted oldest at the top to newest on the bottom. I do this so I can read messages from different people in the order they were received (otherwise I would have no idea what people are talking about many messages into a discussion). Within the past few days my inbox has randomly begun sorting new to old. I can easily sort them by clicking the sort drop-down and switching the date but every time I check my email it defaults back to newest on top. PLEASE tell me there is a way to save this as a preference or something... It's driving me crazy!

I don't have an answer for your question, but I'm having the same problem recently. You used to be able to save this preference and have your oldest e-mails at the top. It stopped saving it a few days ago or so. Did the webpage that person suggested work for you?

I am having the same problem as well. I tried contacting Yahoo Support via Twitter but they were fairly unhelpful, simply referring me to a browser troubleshooting guide. I'm experiencing this on 2 browsers across 3 computers, so it is something on their end, not mine.

Out of curiosity, I deleted the Yahoo Mail app from my phone, wondering if that cold be the source of the problem, since you can't set the sort option there. It did not change anything- the problem with the webmail sorting remains.
