I want to start a website/blog? Help? - Leah - 03-02-2014 06:36 PM

So I want to start a blog/website type thing,

Just about like, fashion, style, food, lyrics, celebrities, anything I really feel and love, basically what I post on Instagram. Check it out: EVERYTHINGUNION.

But I don't know to post things like that, it would be better to start a blog or website, if you can help, and suggest any websites I can sign up to start the blog/website!

THANKS!<3

there are many website that you can start up and use it for free... for example, wix.com ... it is free and easy to use. If you never have any experience about building a website, then you might search videos or something to guide you... but it is really easy to use.

Wordpress.com is free and is used on their servers, however if you want absolute control Wordpress.org is where you go, but you will need hosting and domain and understand a little bit of mysql to set it up properly if you use two different companies for hosting and domain.

I would agree that Wordpress is a great option. Wordpress.com is their free hosted site where you can easily create a new blog. The free options will have your site name in the URL, but it won't be your own domain. It would be something like myblog.wordpress.com.

If you want to have your own domain (myblog.com), then you'll need to use a hosting provider and purchase your domain either from the hosting provider or a place like godaddy.com. Look for a hosting provider that has tools to automatically install Wordpress. That's a very common feature.

With your own installation of Wordpress, you are able to install your themes (wordpress.com has a limited set to choose from). You can install your own plugins that enhance the functionality of your site. It's very flexible and finding help is pretty easy too.

Good luck.

Good for SEO: Blogger
Good for sharing: Tumblr
Good for design: WordPress
Good for controling: Webnode

I am using the last one but have experiences with all of them
