Can I promote office listings on Twitter/Facebook? - 515 - 03-04-2014 01:12 AM

I am a new agent at a well known brokerage. Every week we have caravan where we go check out new listings. At the last office meeting, the head broker said we have too many listings that are being sold by agents in other offices and she would like to see more agents in the office find buyers for our listings. She even said there may be a bonus involved if we do.

Since not many in my office do the social media stuff, I was wondering if there is anything wrong with me just announcing on Twitter/Facebook "New office listing...." and give out information about the listing. (price, bedroom, bath, sq footage...) that's it.

I do have a website, which features IDX searching. So I can even pull up the listing on there and link it, so if someone is interested they can send a note to me to find out more information.

What are your thoughts on this? We have less than 10 new listings (at least on Caravan) a week, I could spread those out and announce them on my twitter at different times.
Let me add, although I know it's not the same thing, many agents who have a website have a link on it that says "View My Office Listings."

I am trying to figure out IF I say this on Twitter, I start the message with "New office listing..." or "New listing in my office... " etc...

One agent last week was impressed that I had a website and social media set up, she asked me to sit on an open house so I could promote it on my sites.

Ask your broker as he/she is more familiar with the real estate advertisement laws in your particular area.
