does social media inspire "bad behavior?"? - Feka - 03-04-2014 02:02 AM

According to Jenna Wortham in Facebook Made Me Do It "Our growing...compulsion to document our lives and share them online...could be giving us more reason to act out online, for better or for worse." Do you agree or disagree with this statement? In your opinion, does social media inspire "bad behavior?" Explain.

I don't really agree with that, no. Even the author herself said 'for better or worse'. All of my friends use it to share 'good' things, thoughts, recipes, photos, clever jokes, etc. No one ever 'acts out' in a 'bad' manner. Yet then again, my friends are in their 40's or so. We're sort of done with 'acting out'. It's probably a whole different story if you get a bunch of teens trying to prove that they or their lives are 'better' than other teens' lives.
