How to tell my parents about my Facebook account? - Brittany - 03-04-2014 03:39 AM

I'm a 15 year old girl. I'm not allowed to have a Facebook until I am 18. So I made one secretly. I have the highest privacy settings, and only friended a few people that I know in real life. My mom is very strict and asks about everything and needs to know EVERY detail of my life. My dad is a bit more laid-back, but still pretty strict. I rarely keep secrets from my family, we're very "close" (controlled"). I know I should just tell them, but they will be sooooo angry.

Also, any advice on keeping my account a secret?

I also have a Twitter and an Instagram.

If you told them like a 2 days after you made it they won't be that mad. I would just go with mom and dad I know y'all didn't want me to make a facebook but I went behind your back and made one I don't have alot of freinds and nothing bad has happend. Can I please keep it if you say no I will delete it. Then tell them you can see my profile nothing bad in here. Rember tell them that you won't do nothing bad.

I'm also 15 and have over-protective parents. In my opinion you should just continue to keep it a secret. I mean almost all 15 year old's have facebooks and its unfair for your parents to inhibit you from accessing it. You can't let your parents ruin what are meant to be some of the best years of your life. Make sure you don't add anyone you don't know and you should be fine. If your parents go on your computer/ laptop a lot make sure you always delete your history after going on facebook.

Keep it a secret! I'm 14 and when my parents found mine, I lost my laptop for 3 weeks.
