Friend mad cause I quit Facebook? - Mike - 03-05-2014 07:12 AM

I used Facebook for a loooong time, about 4 years to be exact. As time went on I stopped using it, I felt it was becoming a waste of my time, it was more of a distraction then a tool. I don't care to stay in contact with people I don't care about nor do I care to let people know what my life status is. My friends are honestly annoyed with me because I no longer care for Facebook, they think its suspicious behavior. I have no clue how not using Facebook is suspicious behavior!! Social networking is a distraction unless you have a business or you are promoting something( marketing).

Question is, does anyone else feel the same way about social networking or am I being an A-hole with tunnel vision. ( my friends words not mine)

Anyone feel like that. Before I use Facebook everyday, but now, I use it sometimes.

man i used facebook tooo much , took too many time from my life, i could of gone out , went training or something, it will become addictive, when i closed it my friend told me why?? i told him what happend and he ended up closing it aswell, facebook is shit, wasting your time on nothing . its better going outside or learning something new, i managed to take a basic course in welding and now i got another hobby.

Wow, sounds like you need a new friend. Good thing you aren't using Facebook anymore, so you can actually join the rest of us out in the real world and find some true friends.

I have friends and family who have Facebook pages. They've encouraged me to "get on board", but I have never joined. Based on what I have read, it sounds like it is "middle school all over" with people trying to one-up the next person. Why the appeal? I'm not sure, but it definitely causes a lot of drama.

You mention the marketing aspect of Facebook. That is essentially what this form of social media has become. A place for advertisements. Don't know if you heard this, but Facebook is launching a Facebook phone. The primary reason is for advertising. Wow, who would have ever figured that?

As far as suspicious behavior, I'd be curious what types of things your "friend" is posting on Facebook. Some people don't seem to understand how careful one has to be online. And once something is posted online, it is there forever.

Glad you have seen the light.
