When I close a facebook page, a whole bunch of new pages pop up nonstop? - Vanessa D - 10-15-2012 07:44 PM

So I close my browser with a facebook page on it, and then suddenly a whole bunch of new facebook windows start popping up!
I can't close them all quickly enough so i end up having about 20 facebook pages.
Does this mean my computer has a virus or something?
What can I do to stop it?

You may have spyware. You should download ad-aware and run it. Also you should have an UPDATED anti-virus actively running. It should clear up any problems. But, if it doesn't, you may be missing some updates for your browser.

I would say that this is a malware problem. I reccomend downloading and installing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from:

http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

and run the scan. Note: this is free software, you have the option to buy but you do not have to.

It sound like you have spyware. Do a google search for spybot search and destroy. Download that and run it.

You may have a virus of malware program on your computer. I would update your virus program and do a scan of your computer. I would also run a malware scan with a program such as Spybot. If you are still having problems after that I would look for a BHO (browser helper object). These BHOs are installed by viruses or malware and can cause the multiple pages to open up.
