i dont see them on my list and cant type in their name above my page?
my sister still has these names on her list of friends so they are still on facebook
i never instant message them on facebook

That means you were either unfriended or the person deactivated or deleted their Facebook.

If they aren't in your friend's list, it means they aren't your friend anymore. That could be because they unfriended you, or (less likely) because they left Facebook.

You can tell by many things.If It's someone you used to message there icon won't be in your messages.Their information also won't pop up in your news feed.They might've have also just deleted their facebook altogether.I Hope I helped.(:
