When you look at someone's friends' list in Facebook, some you could actually see the Details of how he/she knows the other person for eg "They worked together, They went to college together". How do i add those details and is it me who add them or my friends would have to add them for others to see?

You can't add friend details anymore.
Facebook revamped the Friends page so you can only make friends lists.
