twitter is a "microblog." there is a limit to how much you can write for each post.
A regular blog can have many words, pictures, and the like.

Blog is where u can write ur feelings bout something or ur daily diary or whatever u want Unlimited
Twitter is where u can write something that ur doing or just have done in about 50 words or more.

blog is like 1ce a day or week and long, twitter is supposed to be multiple each day with really short statuses

Twitter as it is called, a micro blog. You can write upto 140 characters in one shot. You can provide links and share textual matters. Twitter is basically used for marketing and publicizing. Those who follow you can only find your updates.

Where as a blog is universal. You can put in as much data as you want and the whole world can see it. Nobody needs to follow. There is no limit to number of characters. Any topic can be chosen depending on your taste!
