I have an LG Optimus GT540, but am hugely disappointed with the official Facebook Android app, Facebook for Android. What's the best free alternative, which gives notifications and doesn't send you to the browser?

There are a bunch of Facebook apps on the Market. Some are good, some not so. I would install different ones and find the one that suits you best. Google has stated that they're working with FB to improve the features on their Android app.

Dealeat the App and download it again
