I want a job in market research...? - Chonsie - 03-10-2014 05:04 AM

I'm finishing up my Bachelor's in Marketing, and I plan on going to Graduate school next year. Would a degree in Psychology be better for market research, or should I pursue Anthropology?

1. Market and survey researchers can enter the occupation with a bachelor's degree, but those with a master’s or Ph.D. in marketing or a social science should enjoy the best opportunities.
2. Researchers need strong quantitative skills and, increasingly, knowledge of conducting web-based surveys.
3. Employment is expected to grow much faster than average.

However, it also depends on you on where you would want to work. Like for example, when you take masteral of your course, you're doubling your probability to be hired by companies seeking a marketing graduate with masteral degree. But Psychology is also a great choice especially if you want to land a job in the field of consulting or management. You can combine both course to apply on your future job. It's up to you what is easier for you to take.
