I think they are refering to the website. If you put something on facebook, it belongs to it.

You still have full access to all your information. They are just making a stand ground so that no one can sue facebook for any privacy issues or anything.

It kind of sounds like as long as you have a profile on their site you cannot sue them for using any info. or pictures you place there. Sounds like they are just covering their butts just in case. On the right side of your profile in the dark blue bar click settings then privacy. You can control a lot of what they do with your pictures and information there. Go over it really carefully. I still find settings there that are hidden, and buried.

It sounds to me that if you put something on facebook, it is free game for anyone to use, even them. Think of it this way, even though it isn't going to happen. If facebook decided to advertise its services, like if they started to charge and wanted customers...they could put a billboard with a picture of you and your little kittens at their birthday tea party so people who like kittens would buy a facebook page or place an ad on facebook. The same goes this way, which is more likely. Someone gets to view your page, and copies a picture out of it of you in a really cute outfit, then they right click, save it, and go post it on their profile and pretend they are you. It could happen, and facebook would not be responsible. So, basically, it is saying you give up all rights to the photos.
